Website setup

The following was previously posted in the forum based on the main www.neuls.ca site:

I am working through the best way to set up this website so that people can add or update their information and download everyone's information back in to their own software. There are a couple of different programs that are set up more for posting information rather than gathering it. The two I have found are PhpGedView and "The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding". But they do not seem to be an ideal solution. The other option is sharing gedcom files generated by your own software. Anyone have any ideas?

Another item is privacy, I am not too sure it is a good idea to have birth dates for living people exposed to the general public. It would be nice to have something for the general public to browse to be able to find information and yet still have it that when people log in they can possible access more information.
As mentioned already I am not too sure how much interest this site will generate as I have no idea how many people are interested in research on the Neuls surname. I see today that Google has already picked up on the site as it shows up number 7 when I search just for "Neuls"!! So maybe??
